An eagle's eyesight is so good that they can actually see fish in the water from about 1,000 feet up in the air. With an eagle's eyesight, they can see something moving, even if it is far away. Then, they swoop down to catch their prey.

An eagle can spot a mouse from a distance of over a kilometer. At that distance, the mouse looks like a little white dot. That's how powerful and strong an eagle's eyesight is.

Eagles hunt a variety of animals including fish, rabbits, squirrels, hares, reptiles, birds and small mammals. Eagles will also steal food from other raptors, including other eagles.

An eagle's diet consists mostly of small mammals, but they may also prey on fish, reptiles, amphibians, birds and insects. Some species are specialized in hunting rabbits, hares, foxes, or even other raptors. Eagles may also scavenge for food.

The bald eagle is the most famous type of eagle in the world. It is a bird of prey found in North America. It is the national bird and symbol of the United States of America. Its range includes all of Canada and Alaska, all of the contiguous United States, and northern Mexico.

The bald eagle is found near large bodies of open water with an abundant food supply and old-growth trees for nesting. It builds the largest nest of any North American bird and lays one to three eggs.
